Driver Injured in Car Crash at Mugu Rock
A woman was seriously injured Monday night when she lost control of her car and plunged more than 50 feet off Pacific Coast Highway at Mugu Rock, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman, who was not immediately identified, was ejected from the car just before it struck the cliff face and burst into flames about 8 p.m., said Officer Dave Webb.
A couple who were stargazing in the area pulled the women from the surf, where she landed, Webb said. She was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard for treatment, he said.
