A student at Los Amigos High in Fountain Valley was arrested on suspicion of making a bomb threat at the campus last week, police said Friday.

The 14-year-old boy, who was not identified because of his age, was arrested Thursday. He was released to his parents the same day, police said.

School officials called police after a note was found at the school March 21, Police Capt. Paul Sorrell said. He declined to say what the note said or where it was found, citing an ongoing investigation.

The Fountain Valley Police Department sent the case to the district attorney’s office Friday, requesting that charges be filed against the ninth-grader, he said.
