Santa Margarita 16, Anaheim Servite 16--Servite’s Mike Lawrence kicked a 30-yard field goal with nine seconds left to play to clinch a tie for the Friars in a Serra League game at Saddleback College.

Santa Margarita (7-1-2, 2-0-1) won its second consecutive league title with the tie and Servite (5-4-1, 0-2-1) kept its playoff hopes alive.

The Eagles, ranked sixth in the region by The Times and No. 3 by the Southern Section in Division I, played without its leading rusher and top defender, Ashton White, who was out with a sore knee.

Without White, who has rushed for 1,224 yards and scored 20 touchdowns this season, the Eagles were able to muster only one touchdown. Jason Graben completed the Eagles’ scoring with field goals of 29, 28 and 20 yards.

Servite, which trailed, 16-6, at the half, opened the second half with a 14-play, 80-yard drive, capped by Dillon Bedard’s second touchdown of the game.
