IVillage to Fire 50 Workers to Trim Costs

IVillage Inc., an operator of Internet sites for women, said it will fire 50 workers, or 18% of its staff, to lower costs. The New York-based company said fourth-quarter sales will range from unchanged to down 10% from $18.1 million in the third quarter because of reductions in advertising spending. IVillage didn’t say how much money it would save because of the firings.
