Wildfire Is Contained; Only Movie Set Damaged
Firefighters contained a wind-driven fire Monday that threatened numerous homes north of Santa Clarita but damaged only a remote movie set, a U.S. Forest Service spokesman said.
The 6,541-acre fire that started Friday morning was contained at 6 a.m. Monday, said Forest Service spokesman Pat Boss, and full control was expected this morning..
An unspecified number of residents were evacuated Friday, but only four unoccupied buildings and several cars on the movie set in Bouquet Canyon were damaged, Boss said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
