1 Dead, 1 Arrested in Motel Room Stabbing
A Costa Mesa man died late Monday after being stabbed in the neck at a motel, police said.
Morris Earl Grice, 48, was pronounced dead at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach after being stabbed several times about 9 p.m. in a motel room on Harbor Boulevard, said Lt. Dale Birney of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
Officers arrested Stephen Charles Novak, also of Costa Mesa, whom witnesses identified as Grice’s assailant.
Novak, 43, is being held without bail at the City Jail on suspicion of murder. He is to be arraigned today) at the Harbor Justice Center, Birney said.
