Public Secrets
I can’t help but imagine the terrorists in the U.S. secretly plotting their next strike, sitting down to their Sunday paper and yelling some Middle Eastern tongue’s equivalent of “Eureka!” after reading your comprehensive story on the vulnerability of the 800-mile Alaskan oil pipeline (Oct. 14).
We’ve trained them to be pilots, they’ve used our planes as weapons and now we’re even giving them ideas for more targets. Can’t we just hold our pens in the interest of national security? I don’t consider this very responsible journalism.
