Include a Woman

Re “After the Taliban, What?” editorial, Oct. 21: Considering the makeup of a future government in Afghanistan, why settle for a regime that meets at least minimum human rights standards, including letting women work and girls attend school, as suggested in your recent editorial? Why not include in that successor body a female representative in addition to the royalists, tribal elders, ethnic representatives, politicians, overseas Afghans and others being considered for this coalition?
