Asita Technologies Inc., an Irvine maker of information security products for the Internet, said Monday it has raised $24 million in funds from venture capital groups. Asita will use the money to boost its sales team, increase its market share and expand its position in the rapidly growing Virtual Private Network and integrated security-applications markets.

The money, representing a second round of financing, comes from an investor group led by Softbank Europe Ventures and ETF Group.

Others contributing funds were Digital Networks and existing investor Bamboo Investments plc.
