Re “Amid Pain and Loss, a Blank Spot,” April 1: The inspirational story of Bert Levy’s recovery after devastating injuries [from being run down by a car] unfortunately contained another “slam” against teachers. What exactly is meant by this statement: “He had attended law school before the accident, but he is currently taking a course toward a teaching credential”? As one who has dedicated himself to education, I am hurt by the implication.
