O.C. Students Receive Awards
Three Orange County high school students were among 12 finalists receiving recognition Tuesday at the 14th Annual Music Center Spotlights Award ceremony in Los Angeles.
Diane Booth, 16, a junior at Newport Harbor High School, took the top prize of $5,000 in the classical dance category. Lisa Algozinni, 15, a freshman at the Orange County High School of the Arts, and Stacey Aung, 16, a junior at Sonora High School, each won $2,500 runner-up awards in classical voice and non-classical dance, respectively.
The finalists were chosen from 118 semifinalists picked from a field of 763 who auditioned.
