Girl, 13, Is Charged With Heroin Smuggling

A 13-year-old British girl has been charged with smuggling about $1.3 million worth of heroin from Pakistan, officials said.
The girl was arrested at Manchester Airport in northern England after stepping off a flight Monday from Islamabad, the Pakistani capital. Customs officers recovered 28 pounds of heroin.
The teenager, whose name was not made public, was in the care of social workers and will appear before magistrates Thursday.
