Kids of Stars Doing Their Own Thing

Let’s give it up for the children of rock stars. Cher’s son, Elijah Blue, and his band Deadsy tore up the Dragonfly last Friday. The band was celebrating its new Fred Durst-directed video. (An album’s due out in May.) Among the fans in the house were members of Korn, System of a Down, Static X, as well as hot chicas Drew Barrymore and Lara Flynn Boyle.

Meanwhile, back at the Viper Room, Chris Stills--son of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s Stephen Stills--proved he got game. In a stunning display of raw talent, the singer channeled up the likes of the Black Crowes and Led Zeppelin--not bad company.

Speaking of raw talent, I’m keeping my neck warm with a Diva Zappa scarf I scored at the Blest Boutique in Hollywood. Diva--the youngest of the Zappa brood--is a knitting whiz.... Speaking of whiz kids, Tom and Travis from Blink-182 proved their new side project Boxcar Racer ain’t no joke. In its Key Club debut last Thursday, the group sounded like a Nirvana-Blink hybrid. Heavy yet tasty.

I’m waving my pompoms for Ball, my new favorite heavy rock band spotted at Monday’s Camaro Club. Brian Tichy is dyn-o-mite, particularly considering he’s really a drummer (he plays with Ozzy, Billy Idol and Slash).
