Finding a dance that will engage kids is easier than parents might think, even in the “Nutcracker’s” off-season. Some upcoming shows good for introducing kids to dance:

“The Lion King” --Eye-popping puppetry, catchy music and lots of dance tell the story of a lion cub who learns the ways of the jungle. Running through Dec. 31, Pantages Theatre, 6233 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. (323) 468-1770.

Jazz Tap Ensemble--Live jazz music, soft-shoe shuffling and tidal waves of tapping prove that this local group’s got it going on.
