MTA in Transit

So the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is planning prepaid monthly ride cards and simplifying the process to buy bus passes (Aug. 14). Are these MTA press releases from Aug. 14, 1962? It astounds and infuriates me that the head of the MTA doesn’t take a trip to a place like Seattle (with an excellent transit system) and attempt to model the MTA after King County’s Metro Transit system.

There, riders can log online and track where the bus is on the route so as to figure when to step outside their home or office to go to the stop to catch the bus. In L.A. this system would at least tell riders that their bus isn’t even coming. The MTA needs to enter the 21st century ... or at least the 20th!
