2 in Contest Had Sex in Cathedral, Officials Say

A Virginia couple accused of having sex inside St. Patrick’s Cathedral in hopes of winning a radio show contest must wait until October to learn whether they have been indicted by a grand jury, a New York judge said.
Loretta Lynn Harper of Alexandria and Brian Florence of Quantico appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court after being arrested last week on charges of obscenity and public lewdness.
Witnesses said they were having sex in a vestibule, just a few feet away from worshippers observing the Feast of the Assumption.
The pair were trying to win a contest sponsored by the WNEW-FM afternoon talk program, “Opie and Anthony,” in which the hosts challenge listeners to have sex in various public places, officials said.
