Tests Find Actress Felix Died of Natural Causes
The exhumation of the body of Maria Felix concluded that the Mexican film icon died of natural causes and was not given pills or poison that hastened her death, local media reported.
The beauty, who also gained fame as a staunch women’s rights advocate and a blunt commentator on Mexican politics, died in her sleep at her Mexico City home April 8, her 88th birthday.
Her brother, Benjamin Felix, requested that her body be exhumed to determine if she had been poisoned, though it was unclear why anyone would do so. He had challenged her will, which did not include her family.
