Chimera’s Overtime Goal Leads Oilers

Jason Chimera scored 3:21 into overtime Friday night to give the Edmonton Oilers a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche at Edmonton, Canada.

Chimera knocked a rebound past Patrick Roy on Edmonton’s only shot of overtime.

Georges Laraque scored for Edmonton to tie it 3-3 less than 10 minutes into the third period of his first game since Nov. 30.

Washington 4, Phoenix 3 -- Mike Grier had two goals, and the Coyotes had two goals disallowed as the Capitals held on at Phoenix.

Chicago 1, Buffalo 1 -- Miroslav Satan scored with 13.7 seconds left to left the Sabres into a tie at Buffalo, N.Y. Alexei Zhamnov scored on a penalty shot for the Blackhawks.

Florida 3, New York Islanders 3 -- Kristian Huselius scored the tying goal with 4:08 left to rally the Panthers to a tie at Sunrise, Fla.

Dallas 3, Atlanta 1 -- Bill Guerin scored his team-leading 14th goal at Dallas to lead the Stars over the Thrashers.
