Body May Be Kidnap Victim’s
Police on Sunday were investigating whether a body dumped and set on fire in a Buena Park industrial complex is that of a Commerce security guard who was kidnapped from work last week, officials said.
The body was discovered about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, engulfed in flames inside a trash bin in the 8400 block of Artesia Boulevard, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Spear. Firefighters extinguished the flames and discovered the body.
Sheriff’s officials said the badly burned body may belong to Song Chea, 52, who was abducted Thursday as he guarded the front gates of the Overnight Trucking Co. in Commerce.
Orange County coroner’s officials completed an autopsy, but the results were not conclusive. A dental exam will be performed today, said Deputy Cullen Ellingburgh of the Orange County Sheriff’s-Coroner’s Department.
