Boston Acquires Delk, Rogers From Phoenix
The Boston Celtics, hoping to boost their offense for a playoff run, acquired guard Tony Delk and forward Rodney Rogers in a five-player trade with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
The Suns received forward Joe Johnson, Boston’s first pick in last year’s NBA draft and the 10th pick overall, as well as backup guards Milt Palacio and Randy Brown, and a first-round draft pick in this year’s draft.
Delk, a 6-foot-2 guard and five-season veteran out of Kentucky, was averaging 10.6 points this season for Phoenix. Rogers, a 6-7 forward in his eighth season out of Wake Forest, started seven of Phoenix’s 50 games, averaging 12.6 points and 4.8 rebounds.
Johnson, who came out of Arkansas as an underclassman, started 33 of 48 games for Boston this season, averaging 6.3 points. Palacio was averaging 3.7 points as a backup guard, and Brown has played in just one game during an injury-plagued season.

Phoenix guard Stephon Marbury had a higher blood-alcohol content than initially reported after his recent DUI arrest, according to police at Phoenix.
A blood test taken the night Marbury was arrested indicated the basketball star had a blood-alcohol content of 0.18, police Sgt. Doug Dirren said.
The initial test, measured with a hand-held breath tester, indicated his blood-alcohol content was 0.153, the police said. The state’s legal limit is 0.08.
Marbury was arrested on Feb. 8 and booked on charges of extreme driving under the influence, driving under the influence and speeding.
