AIG to Disclose More Financial Information
American International Group Inc. Chief Executive Maurice “Hank” Greenberg told a group of analysts the biggest insurer will disclose more information about its finances.
Greenberg said the insurer will begin having quarterly earnings conference calls and will release more financial information on its businesses. Greenberg also said AIG’s board had a succession plan that named individuals inside the company and may result in the separation of the roles of chairman and CEO.
The disclosure plans and succession details may help halt a slide in AIG’s shares, analysts said. The stock has dropped 8.7% this year. The shares rose $1 to close at $72.50 on the NYSE.
