Man Arrested in Alleged Plot on Wife
A Port Hueneme man has been arrested on suspicion of plotting to kill his estranged wife and then assaulting the man he asked to help commit the crime.
Brian Murphy, 47, who was previously arrested on three counts of violating a restraining order, was out on bail when police say he asked a friend to help him kill his wife.
Police said Murphy and his friend argued and a fight broke out. Murphy then allegedly threatened the friend’s life.
Murphy, who was arrested Monday, is scheduled for arraignment today.
He has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, burglary, making terrorist threats and violating a restraining order.
