Russia to Renew Ban on U.S. Chickens
Russia will reinstate a ban on U.S. chicken imports because it says the U.S. hasn’t guaranteed the poultry is safe, an action that will cut off Tyson Foods Inc. from its largest export market and may rekindle a trade dispute.
Russia said the imports will be banned Aug. 1 because the two governments haven’t agreed on a certificate showing how the chickens are processed. Russia wants processors to show they are following rules on the use of chemicals, antibiotics and genetically modified ingredients in feed.
