Weather Puts Launch of Endeavour on Hold
With thunderstorms expected through the weekend, NASA put off until Monday the launch of the shuttle Endeavour on a mission to the international space station.
Managers made the decision after storms in the Cape Canaveral area forced the second delay in as many days. The bad weather is expected to continue into next week.
The delay adds at least four days to what already is a six-month stay at the international space station for Americans Daniel Bursch and Carl Walz, and Yuri Onufrienko, the Russian commander.
By the time they return to Earth, the astronauts will have set a U.S. space endurance record. The shuttle will supply a new crew and thousands of pounds of supplies.
