* New This Week: Cuba Gooding Jr. stars in “Snow Dogs,” a lightweight, ungainly farce in which he plays Dr. Ted Brooks, serene ruler over a Miami chain of dental clinics. One day, he is served with legal papers requiring that he fly to a tiny town in Alaska to collect an inheritance. This development leads to the revelation that he is adopted and sends him north grasping for roots and purpose in a remote Alaskan village. What he finds is a village of eccentrics and grotesques mimeographed from a rejected episode of “Northern Exposure,” and a sled dog team of huskies that is part of the inheritance. With James Coburn, Sisqo and Nichelle Nichols. Directed by Brian Levant.
