Chief of Children’s Mental Health to Resign
From Times Staff Reports
The Ventura County official who oversees mental health services for children is stepping down at the end of the month.
Eleanor Fritz’s resignation will become effective May 31. County supervisors today will consider giving her a two-month contract for consulting services to ease the transition as they search for a replacement.
Fritz’s resignation follows the firing of Dr. David Gudeman, director of the Behavioral Health Department. Supervisors said Gudeman had done a poor job of managing his department during his three-year tenure.
