Retiree Wins Big at Slots in Vegas: $22.6 Million

A retiree from Covina won the third-largest slot machine jackpot ever on Monday, hitting $22.6 million on a Megabucks machine at a Las Vegas Strip casino.
Johanna Heundl, 74, a frequent visitor to Las Vegas, won the jackpot after putting $177 into the $1 game at Bally’s, a casino official said.
Heundl, a widow born in Austria, said she will spend part of her winnings to visit brothers and sisters living in Europe.
