Barak Cleared, but 4 Aides Face Ethics Charge

A panel cleared former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak of suspicions that he violated election funding laws but recommended indicting four former associates, police said.
Four of Barak’s campaign managers set up fictitious nonprofit companies to funnel foreign donations to his 1999 campaign, in violation of Israeli law, police said.
Prosecutors will decide whether to indict Barak’s Cabinet secretary, Yitzhak Herzog, Barak’s brother-in-law and lawyer Doron Cohen, campaign manager Tal Zilberstein and lawmaker Weizman Shiri.
They deny any wrongdoing.
