Slain Reporter Pearl’s Wife Gives Birth to Boy

The widow of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl has given birth to a boy she named Adam D. Pearl, said Ashley McCown, a family spokeswoman.
Adam, born Tuesday and weighing about 6 pounds, and mother Mariane Pearl “are doing fine,” McCown said.
Pearl, 38, the newspaper’s South Asia bureau chief, disappeared Jan. 23 in Karachi, Pakistan, while researching a story. Pakistan has charged four Islamic militants in his kidnapping and murder. His wife was pregnant with their only child when he disappeared.
