Louisiana State quarterback Matt Mauck will be out indefinitely after injuring his right foot in the 14th-ranked Tigers’ victory over Florida on Saturday.

Mauck, who has guided the Tigers to five consecutive victories after an opening loss to Virginia Tech, was injured with 7 1/2 minutes remaining and the Tigers leading, 36-7.

“The evaluation on Tuesday showed he has a significant injury to the mid-foot,” team doctor Brent Bankston said Wednesday. “At this time, he will be out indefinitely and will undergo further testing to determine if surgery is necessary.”
