Jockey Looks for Fabulous Finish

Trainer Donna McArthur has two quarter horses entered in the 300-yard seventh race tonight, but that means jockey Sam Thompson is switching horses.

After seven consecutive mounts aboard Quicks Trick, Thompson is riding Shez Simply Fabulous. Cody Jensen takes Thompson’s place aboard Quicks Trick, who broke her maiden at 300 and finished in the money twice at either 220 or 300 yards.

Shez Simply Fabulous ran fifth at 350 yards last time, but previously won a 300-yard sprint.

Holland Chickie, with Joe Badilla Jr. aboard, has finished second to Quicks Trick at 220 yards.

Pick four: Take recent runner-up Red Dirt Girl and Pritzi Too in the first, morning-line favorite Dream Journey and Fleet Year in the second, Cheer The Royal, Anneal and Flying Tapestry in the third and Dashing Pro and Swift Intruder in the fourth.

Shots in the dark: In the fifth, Twotimesthefly makes his first local start and Dazzlin Ta Fame, a winner last time out, could dazzle. In the 300-yard seventh, Fiery Beduino will break from the outside post in gate six. She had success from that gate at the same distance in February.
