Sahara Hotnights date--A best bet in Thursday’s Calendar Weekend included an incorrect date for the band Sahara Hotnights’ appearance with the Mooney Suzuki at the Roxy. Sahara Hotnights is the Mooney Suzuki’s opening act on Wednesday at the West Hollywood club.
West Hollywood may sound more like West New York as a pair of rising bands from the Big Apple perform. At the Roxy, the Mooney Suzuki puts its spin on the continuing resurgence of guitar-dominated garage rock in shows tonight and Wednesday, while a short hop away at the Troubadour, Interpol concludes a two-night stand with its moody-gloomy sound that has drawn comparisons to Joy Division and U2.
The Mooney Suzuki, Roxy, 9009 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood. With Sahara Hotnights. 8 p.m. $10. Also Wednesday. (310) 278-9457. Interpol, Troubadour, 9081 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood. 8 p.m. $10. (310) 276-6168.

Joan Holden’s world-premiere drama, “Nickel and Dimed,” is based on Ehrenreich’s book, “Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America.”
