Independence Hall Area Reopened to Traffic
From Times Wire Reports
Traffic and pedestrians rambled past Independence Hall in Philadelphia for the first time since the area was closed off following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, but the landmark itself was closed.
The reopening opened a hole in the security zone that the National Park Service had set up to screen visitors to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. And so, the Park Service carried out its threat to temporarily close Independence Hall to visitors.
