From Staff and Wire Reports
Irvine police Tuesday arrested a man accused of impersonating a police officer to invade and rob the home of a resident whose identity he stole.
Scott Thomas Spencer, 26, was arrested about 7 a.m. at the Riverside home he shares with his girlfriend.
Spencer was taken to Orange County Jail and charged with robbery, false imprisonment, burglary and impersonating a peace officer in connection with the March 23 invasion robbery. Police said they tracked him down after he attempted to cash one of the stolen checks.
