Boy Clung to Life Hours After Death Reported
A 2-year-old boy, reported dead Sunday after his father discovered him floating in the family’s pool at their home near Orange, survived on life support before dying Monday afternoon, an Orange County Sheriff’s Department official said.
Department officials said Sunday that the boy died at 10 p.m. at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. The Times and other news organizations reported the death. But medical personnel were able to find a weak pulse and the boy, whose name was not released, clung to life before dying at 2:33 p.m. Monday, department spokesman Jim Amormino said.
