Ex-Treasurer of Youth League Gets Jail in Theft
From Times Wire Reports
A Vista woman who stole a youth football league’s snack-bar profits, registration fees and fund-raising proceeds has been ordered to spend 60 weekends in jail and pay back $37,000.
Tina Tuttle, the former treasurer for the Vista Pop Warner Football League, was suspected of stealing at least $80,000 in 2000-01, but prosecutor Karl Eppel said that because of missing records, his office could only prove $37,381 was taken.
The thefts were discovered when the league president, while changing banks, found only $411 in the league’s two accounts instead of the $96,000 that was expected.
