Stern, ABC settle $10-million lawsuit
Radio personality Howard Stern has settled a $10-million lawsuit against ABC and the producers of the reality series “Are You Hot?,” which he claimed was a rip-off.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed in the two-page dismissal notice, which was filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Stern sued ABC and Telepictures Productions in March, claiming “Are You Hot?” was a blatant imitation of a segment from his syndicated radio show that he had hoped to transfer to TV. Attorneys for ABC and Telepictures Productions did not immediately return calls for comment.
