Tour plans: Pop-country singer Shania Twain will embark on her first world tour in three years, starting Sept. 25 in Canada. The tour is slated to run through mid-December, but no Southern California dates are on the initial spate of tour stops announced this week.

Job change: Victor Neufeld, a 30-year veteran of ABC News who most recently was senior executive producer of news magazines there, has been named executive producer of CBS’ morning news program “The Early Show.”

New veep: Gary Cole, who played the father in the feature film version of “The Brady Bunch,” has been hired to portray the new vice president on NBC’s “The West Wing.” Cole isn’t new to NBC: He starred in its 1984 movie “Fatal Vision” and its 1988-91 drama series “Midnight Caller.”
