Garaging a car has gotten cheaper

Considering commuting to work from a house in the suburbs? Rates at parking garages nationwide have fallen due to the sluggish economy, according to Colliers International’s third annual North America Parking Rate Survey.
The survey found that the average unreserved monthly rate in North America was $140.52, a 7.4% drop from a year ago. Rates ranged from $425 in New York City to $40 in Orange County.
The survey was conducted in July and covered a broad selection of 53 metropolitan areas.
