Man Convicted of Murder in Stabbing
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
An Orange County jury Tuesday convicted a gang member of second-degree murder for stabbing a man in the head with a screwdriver, officials said.
The jury deliberated for three days before convicting Tam Thanh Huynh, 22, of attacking Phong Ly, 20, on Dec. 30, 2001 outside the now-defunct PC Cafe in Garden Grove. The killing resulted in curfews and other restrictions at cyber cafes.
Huynh, who was also found guilty of gang charges, could face a 15-year-to-life term when he is sentenced Oct. 10.
