Officer Reassigned During Probe
The commander of a fighter-jet training squadron has been reassigned to an unspecified position on base after allegations of misconduct, Navy officials said.
Cmdr. Jeffrey W. Hansen will remain in the new position pending the outcome of a Navy investigation, officials said Thursday.
Lt. Heidi Lenzini, a Navy spokeswoman in San Diego, said the misconduct allegation had nothing to do with the squadron. Hansen is a 21-year Navy veteran who has flown more than 3,000 hours in the F/A-18 Hornet.
He took over as commander of VFA-125, a training squadron, in February, officials said.
