2003 a Busy Hurricane Season, Experts Say

The 2003 Atlantic hurricane season was busier than usual, with 14 named storms that had caused 62 deaths by the season’s end, but forecasters said it could have been worse.
Hurricane Fabian was the strongest storm to hit land, raking Bermuda with 120 mph winds that tore up roofs and roads in September. Two weeks later, Hurricane Isabel hit North Carolina with 100 mph winds and became the season’s deadliest and most damaging storm.
