Boys go over the top, again
Bad Boys II
Will Smith, Martin Lawrence
Columbia TriStar, $30
Perhaps the title of this sequel to the 1995 buddy cop flick should have been “Atrocious Boys,” because the action-comedy is truly overblown, indulgent and violent. And why did director Michael Bay decide it should clock in at nearly 2 1/2 hours? This time around, the “Bad Boys” -- Miami cops and best buddies Smith and Lawrence -- go after a Cuban gangster who smuggles drugs and money to his homeland in coffins. The two-disc set doesn’t feature any commentary by Bay, but the second disc is filled with special features: deleted scenes, a music video, storyboards and a visual effects featurette.

Assassination Tango
Robert Duvall, Luciana Pedraza
MGM, $27
You have to give credit to Duvall for making unique films as a writer-director and star. Six years ago, he received an Oscar nomination for best actor for the drama “The Apostle,” which he also wrote and directed.
This film isn’t as good as “The Apostle,” but at least you have never seen anything like it. The actor plays a hit man on a job in Argentina who becomes obsessed with the tango and a tango dancer (Pedraza, who is the woman in Duvall’s real life).
The DVD includes deleted scenes and commentary with Duvall and his leading lady.
