Newspaper career ends after 75 years
From Associated Press
On Sunday, 75 years after he first went to work for the Berkshire (Mass.) Eagle, Ted Giddings published his last column in the newspaper, bidding “farewell and hearty best wishes to all readers.”
Giddings, 97, started working for the newspaper in 1928 and officially retired as city editor in 1971.
But he continued to write a weekly column about the fields, streams and woods of his beloved Berkshires, which ran in the paper for 55 years.
