Man Pleads Not Guilty in Officer’s Death
From Staff and Wire Reports
A college student accused of gunning down a Red Bluff policeman at a gas station pleaded not guilty Tuesday, but acknowledged that he killed the officer.
“I admit that I committed the action that led to the death of Dave Mobilio,” Andrew McCrae, 23, said in a Tehama County Superior Court hearing. “But ... I plead not guilty.”
McCrae, also known as Andrew Mickel, was arrested Nov. 26 in New Hampshire. Mobilio, 31, was killed Nov. 19 while refueling his cruiser.
