Lake Is Getting Clearer, UC Researchers Report

A team of UC Davis scientists studying pollution in Lake Tahoe reports that the lake was clearer in 2002 than it has been in 10 years. The UC Davis Tahoe Research Group said the finding could mean regional recovery projects are making a difference.
Data show that in 2002 Lake Tahoe clarity reached an annual average depth of more than 78 feet for the first time since 1992.
