Missouri Drops Cold-Shooting Oklahoma

Rickey Paulding had eight of his 14 points in a 2:18 span of the second half Wednesday night at Columbia, Mo., helping Missouri stay unbeaten at home with a 67-52 victory over No. 3 Oklahoma.

Ricky Clemons, playing with a broken left hand, had 13 points and three assists for the Missouri (17-7, 8-5 Big 12). The Tigers are 14-0 at the Hearnes Center.

Missouri ended a losing streak at nine against Oklahoma (19-5, 10-3). The Sooners shot a season-low 27.3%.

The loss dropped Oklahoma to second place in the Big 12, one game behind Kansas.

No. 2 Kentucky 80, Tennessee 68 -- Keith Bogans scored 15 points at Lexington, Ky., as the Wildcats (23-3, 13-0 Southeastern Conference) extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 17 games. Tennessee (15-9, 7-6) was led by Ron Slay, who had 22 points and 14 rebounds.

No. 5 Texas 82, Baylor 64 -- Brian Boddicker scored 19 points as the Longhorns (19-5, 10-3 Big 12) won at Austin, Texas. Lawrence Roberts scored 27 points for Baylor (13-11, 4-9).

No. 6 Duke 77, Georgia Tech 58 -- J.J. Redick scored 19 points at Atlanta as the Blue Devils (20-4, 10-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) secured their seventh consecutive season with at least 20 victories. Ed Nelson had 22 points for Georgia Tech (12-12, 5-8).

No. 7 Kansas 85, Texas A&M; 45 -- Kirk Hinrich scored 23 points and Nick Collison had 15 points and 12 rebounds at Lawrence, Kan., as the Jayhawks (21-6, 11-2 Big 12) routed the Aggies (13-11, 5-8) despite losing Wayne Simien to another shoulder injury. Simien, who has missed 11 games because of a dislocated right shoulder, had the same shoulder pop out again only 40 seconds after entering the game.

No. 8 Pittsburgh 75, Virginia Tech 62 -- Brandin Knight scored 25 points at Blacksburg, Va., for the Panthers (20-4, 10-3 Big East). Virginia Tech is 10-16 and 3-10.

No. 12 Wake Forest 60, Florida State 56 -- Freshman Justin Gray made four free throws in the final 36 seconds at Tallahassee, Fla., as the Demon Deacons (20-4. 10-3 ACC) held onto first place in the conference. Florida State (12-13, 3-11) has lost five in a row to Wake Forest.

No. 13 Xavier 80, Duquesne 78 -- The Musketeers (21-4, 12-1 Atlantic 10) held off a frantic upset bid by the Dukes (9-18, 3-11) at Pittsburgh.

No. 15 Syracuse 89, West Virginia 51 -- Carmelo Anthony had 24 points at Syracuse, N.Y. as the Orangemen (20-4, 10-3 Big East) remained unbeaten in 16 home games this season. West Virginia fell to 13-12 and 4-9.

No. 17 Creighton 63, Southwest Missouri State 58 -- Kyle Korver scored 23 points as the Bluejays (25-3, 14-2 Missouri Valley) held on for the victory at Springfield, Mo. The Bears are 15-10 and 11-5.

No. 20 Mississippi State 59, Alabama 55 -- The Bulldogs (18-6, 8-5 SEC) withstood a rally by the Crimson Tide (15-9, 5-8) to win at Starkville, Miss.

No. 21 Georgia 89, Mississippi 82 -- Jarvis Hayes scored 32 points at Oxford, Miss., as the Bulldogs (17-7, 9-4 SEC) won their fourth in a row. The Rebels are 12-12 and 3-10.

No. 24 Memphis 88, Texas Christian 64 -- Chris Massie had 24 points and 11 rebounds at Memphis, Tenn., as the Tigers (19-5, 10-3 Conference USA) handed the Horned Frogs (8-18, 2-12) their 13th loss in 15 games.

No. 25 Dayton 82, Rhode Island 70 -- Brooks Hall scored 20 points at North Kingstown, R.I., as the Flyers (20-5, 12-2 Atlantic 10) handed the Rams (15-10, 7-7) their fourth loss in a row.

Mike Wilkinson scored 16 points at Madison, Wis., as Wisconsin (20-6, 10-4 Big Ten) took over first place in the conference with a 73-42 victory over Michigan (16-10, 9-4).... Jason Maxiell made one of two free throws with 4.2 seconds left to lift Cincinnati (16-8, 8-5 Conference USA) to a 53-52 victory over East Carolina (12-13, 3-11) at Cincinnati.
