Teacher Reported Missing by Wife
A Las Flores high school teacher has been reported missing by his wife, police said.
Ty C. Watkins, 34, of Mission Viejo, a teacher at Tesoro High School, was last seen Friday about 8:45 a.m. driving north on Antonio Parkway in Rancho Santa Margarita, according to friends and family.
Watkins, a former Foothill High School basketball coach, golf coach and teacher, was driving a forest green Toyota truck with license plate 3LDU332, and a rear license frame reading “James K. Polk Still Lives.”
Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Larry Abbott said that there was no evidence of foul play but that a missing-persons report had been placed in a nationwide computer system alerting other authorities.
Watkins used an ATM on Friday, and police will view the videotapes today “to see if there was friend, foe or nobody” with him, Abbott said.
