Thibault Clips the Red Wings
Jocelyn Thibault made 26 saves, and four players scored for the Chicago Blackhawks in a 4-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night at Chicago.
It was the third game in 11 days between the teams.
The Blackhawks trail the first-place Red Wings by five points in the Central Division. Detroit has lost four of seven.
Pittsburgh 2, Carolina 0 -- Sebastien Caron stopped 26 shots at Raleigh, N.C., to earn his first shutout in his third NHL game.
New York Rangers 2, Washington 1 -- Joel Bouchard scored 1:58 into overtime at Washington to give the Rangers their first three-game winning streak this season.
Florida 3, Boston 0 -- Olli Jokinen scored two goals and Roberto Luongo made 27 saves at Sunrise, Fla., to help the Panthers end a five-game skid.
New Jersey 5, New York Islanders 0 -- Jeff Friesen and Jamie Langenbrunner each had a goal and an assist at East Rutherford, N.J., and Martin Brodeur made 27 saves for the 60th shutout of his career.
Atlanta 1, Montreal 0 -- Marc Savard scored a power-play goal with 4:29 to play to lift host Atlanta in Coach Bob Hartley’s first game with the team.
