Dana Point: Dana Point Harbor -- Fireworks. Tickets also available ($15) for a cruise from 8 to 10 p.m. to watch fireworks. Fireworks begin at 9, launched from a barge outside the harbor.

Huntington Beach: Huntington Beach Fourth of July Celebration -- 99th Annual Huntington Beach Parade starts at 10 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway at 8th Street. Special parade guests include Mickey Rooney and Reggie Jackson. A blues band, Raging Sun, will perform from 2 to 4 p.m. at Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street in the Pier Plaza. Huntington Beach: Surf City 5K Run/Fitness Expo -- From 6 a.m. to noon. Live entertainment, family events, refreshments and fitness products. Event includes 5K run/walk for city residents; 5K Run/walk for all, 5K Stroller Run; Kids Run, 1 mile, half-mile. Check in at 17th Street and Main.

Newport Beach: Fourth of July Celebration -- Parade, with former county Supervisor Marian Bergeson as grand marshal, begins at 9:30 a.m. at Mariners Drive and Commodore Road and ends at Mariners Park at 10:15. Orange Park Acres: Parade starts at 9 a.m. on Frank Street. Floats, bicycles, tractors, horses, dogs and golf carts.
